Accessing the Report Builder

To access the report builder in Hike SEO, follow these steps:

1. Hover over the Reporting tab.
2. Click on Report Builder.

If you haven’t created any reports before, the page will be empty. Otherwise, you’ll see all your existing reports listed with icons for various actions, such as settings, editing, downloading, previewing, and scheduling.

Creating a Report

You can create a report in three ways:

1. Start with a blank report.
2. Use a template.
3. Clone an existing report.

Once you’ve chosen how to create your report, you can customise it by selecting paper size, page orientation, fonts, date format, and date range. Additionally, you can personalise the header and footer sections with your brand colours and fonts.

Using Templates

Templates serve as a boilerplate starting point, speeding up the process of creating multiple reports with consistent branding or layout. To create a template:

1. Click on My Templates.
2. View existing templates or create one from scratch.
3. Customise the template with paper size, page orientation, fonts, date format, and template scope (single website, entire organisation, or local).

Keep in mind that the data in template widgets will be dummy data. Live data will be available once you create and publish a report.

Customizing Report Layout

Within your template, you can add multiple pages, each with multiple widgets. To add a widget:

1. Click on Add Widget.
2. Choose from available widgets, such as Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, keywords, citations, backlinks, actions, reviews, performance, local posts, local rankings, competition, text, images, and custom tables.
3. Customise the widget settings and chart settings as desired.

Scheduling Reports

To schedule a report:

1. Click on My Schedules.
2. Create a new schedule or edit an existing one.
3. Set the frequency, start date, time of day, end date, and report date range.
4. Specify the recipient email, subject line, and attach the report PDF.
5. Customise the email template with autofill tags and placeholders.
