Read on for a recap of the key points that can help you take your agency to the next level. Alternatively, you can watch the video below.
Our panel of experts included:

- Nick Rinylo, Founder & Managing Director, Assisted
- Mikael Englund, COO & Founder, Adcredo
Finding Your Superpower
Michael Buzimski (Buzz) from Buzzworthy Marketing emphasized the importance of discovering and focusing on your agency’s unique strengths. Instead of trying to offer every possible service, concentrate on what you do best and differentiate yourself from competitors. This approach not only helps you stand out but also ensures that you deliver exceptional results for your clients. Using third party suppliers that offer a white label services and tech is another way to diversify without diluting your skillset and focus.
Retention is Crucial
Nick Rinylo, from Assisted, highlighted the challenge of customer retention. To maintain client trust and long-term relationships, it’s essential to sell services you excel at. Or can provide in a way that guarantees excellence (such as platforms that use AI or automation to do the work for you). A good retention strategy allows for cross-selling and upselling additional services over time, contributing to sustained growth.
Making Incremental Impact
Nick also advised making quick, impactful changes when onboarding new clients to demonstrate immediate value. This approach builds trust and also opens up opportunities for additional services, creating a strong client-agency relationship from the start.
Offering Complimentary Services
Buzz discussed the importance of offering complimentary services around your core offerings. Introducing new services that enhance what you already provide can add significant value for your clients without downgrading your primary focus.
Effective Acquisition Strategies
Referrals and reputation remain among the best ways to acquire new clients. Doing a great job for existing clients leads to word-of-mouth recommendations. Specializing in specific sectors can help tailor your services to the needs of particular industries, making your agency more attractive to potential clients in those niches.
Leveraging paid advertising channels like Google Ads and social media is another effective strategy. Mikael from Adcredo stressed the importance of combining data from multiple platforms to make better decisions and create more effective campaigns.
Integrating SEO and PPC
Nick emphasized the importance of sticking to SEO fundamentals, such as optimizing for synonyms and easy wins. Focus on the basics before diving into complex technical SEO tasks. Buzz provided an example of how using both SEO and PPC can significantly boost visibility and traffic. Combining paid ads with organic search efforts can be especially effective.
Leveraging AI for Content Creation and Advertising
AI has become a powerful support tool for most marketing services, especially content creation and advertising automation. Both Nick and Buzz discussed using AI to aid in ideation and content execution – helping with research and drafting. This frees up human writers to focus on refining and optimizing content.
Human-Assisted AI
It’s crucial to use AI as a tool to enhance human capabilities rather than replace them. AI-generated content and strategies have to be refined and optimized by human experts for the best results and to avoid the AI pitfalls of inaccuracies, duplication and even plagiarism. These AI errors will undoubtedly improve over time, but right now it is still in its infancy and needs to be fact checked!
Adapting to Change
Staying adaptable and open to new technologies and methodologies can be the key to agency growth. Taking time to continuously evaluate new tools that come to market and integrate new technologies into your work streams can help improve efficiency and client outcomes.
In conclusion…
Growing your marketing agency requires a combination of focusing on your unique strengths, being adaptable to new technologies, being open to third party support and retaining clients through exceptional service. All of which can be elevated by making quick and impactful changes, and leveraging both traditional and digital marketing strategies.
And of course – embracing AI has already become a core requisite of enhancing your own productivity and your customer outcomes, but maintaining a human touch is essential.
