In this video, we’ll walk you through how to do keyword research using the Hike SEO platform. You can also read the text below the video for a quick summary.

Step 1: Access Keyword Research Tool

Log in to the Hike platform and go to “Strategy” > “Keyword Research.”

Step 2: Enter Seed Keyword

Enter an initial seed keyword related to your niche. For example, “SEO London.” Click “Add Keyword” to generate a list of related keywords.

Step 3: Explore Keyword List

Scroll down to view keywords, sorted by search volume. You can change the sorting by clicking on the arrows next to “Search Volume” or “Difficulty Score.”

Step 4: Select Keywords

Choose relevant keywords by clicking on them. Once you’ve made your selections, click “Chosen Keywords.”

Step 5: Review and Save

Review the chosen keywords, remove any undesired ones, and click “Next.” Confirm your changes and click “Save and Go to Sitemap.” You’ll be directed to the next page, where you can match your chosen keywords to your website’s pages through keyword mapping.

Step 6: Competitor Analysis

Scroll down to “Add a Competitor” and enter a competitor’s domain. This will show you the keywords your competitor is targeting. Select relevant keywords and follow the same process as before to save them.

Step 7: Understanding Metrics

“Search Volume” indicates the average monthly searches for a keyword, while “Difficulty Score” represents the ease of ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs). Lower scores indicate easier ranking.

Step 8: Manage Previous Keyword Ideas

View or remove previous keyword ideas by clicking on “Previous Keyword Ideas.”
