Hey Hikers! It’s time for the monthly Hike update email, where I run through what’s new in Hike (and Google’s algorithm!). This month I discuss the new and improved Content Wizard, the brand-new Google algorithm update that landed yesterday, and the updated Google Listing Manager. As always, watch the video update below or carry on to read an overview of these new updates:
Improved Content Wizard 🧙♂️
We’ve just rolled out an upgrade to the Hike Content Wizard that results in more accurate and SEO-friendly content for your website.
From today onwards, you’ll see a significant improvement in the quality of the page titles, meta-descriptions and headings the Content Wizard outputs based on your target keywords. See an example below:
I strongly recommend you give it a go for your optimized pages, looking out for this icon on your actions pages:
New Google Update – Helpful Content 😲
This is big news. Yesterday, Google rolled out a brand-new algorithm update called the ‘Helpful Content Update’ to reward websites that create ‘person-first’ content and demote those that produce ‘search-first’ content.
Not sure what this means, or if it applies to your website? Then check out the video I recorded yesterday running through what this update is and how it might impact your website.
Updated Google Listing Manager 📍
And finally, we’ve rolled out an update to the Google Listing Manager feature, bringing it in line with the new-look branding within the platform, plus adding new functionality.
That’s all for now, have a great day everyone!
Thanks,
Andy, Hike Co-founder
